Our library has a large reference department, including an entire "Heritage Room" where you can do
much of your own research. However, we also offer several research services for no charge.

Obituary and Newspaper Article Searches: Online newspaper archives can be accessed from our Free Digital Resources page with your library card number, password, and email address. However, we also have microfilm of the Beckley newspapers dating back to 1907 that can be viewed and printed. DISCLAIMER: Newspaper photos often appear darker on microfilm.

Beckley Polk City Directory Searches: The oldest publication is 1921; the newest is 2010. However, the set is incomplete. Please contact our reference department at 304-255-0511 ext. 2 to find out if the volume you need is on our shelves.​​​
